STANDARD PRE-PURCHASE INSPECTION EVALUATION
A quality pre-purchase inspection is critical to keeping an aircraft sale fair between the buyer and seller.
Air Bear Aviation takes a simple approach to all pre-purchase inspections and offers a variety of options depending on the airframe. Our technicians are factory trained and understand the importance of providing unbiased, evidence-based information to keep your transaction moving forward. Pre-purchase inspections are available for the following airframes:
- Bombardier Challenger 300/600/604
- Bombardier Learjet 45/45XR/60
- Cessna Citation 525/560XL/XLS/680/750
- Embraer Phenom 300
- Gulfstream G200/G280
Air Bear Aviation will comply with the following items as part of our pre-purchase template. Inspections may be tailored to address specific customer requirements based on aircraft model or intended operation.
AIRCRAFT RECORDS SURVEY
- Review airframe and engine logbooks to evaluate compliance with selected maintenance and inspection program.
- Check Mandatory SB and AD status.
- Check scheduled maintenance due within 90 days or 100 aircraft hours.
- Check for time/cycle life-limited components and overdue items.
- Identify any record that suggests major damage, major repair, or major alteration was performed.
- Ensure that the aircraft flight manual is compliant with the latest revision standards and includes any required supplements applicable to installed equipment.
- Cross-check of equipment list to the current aircraft configuration.
- Cross-check the list of STC´s and confirm that a FAA form 337 is present for all major repairs or alterations.
- Check onboard aircraft registration documents.
- Check aircraft weight and balance records.
DETAILED AIRFRAME REVIEW
- Perform a visual inspection of the fuselage exterior for signs of corrosion, lightning strike, hail damage, evidence of loose fasteners, and missing paint.
- Perform an external visual inspection of wings, ailerons, and flaps for signs of corrosion, lightning strike, evidence of loose fasteners, and missing paint.
- Remove wheels and visually inspect landing gear, brakes, axles, bearings, wheel assemblies for wear, corrosion, and leakage.
- Perform an external visual inspection of stabilizers, elevators, and rudder for signs of corrosion, lightning strike, hail damage, evidence of loose fasteners, and missing paint.
- Check cockpit windshields and side windows for scratches, distortion, and delamination.
- Check cabin windows for delamination, distortion, scratches, and general condition.
- Check exterior placards and markings for installation and condition.
- Perform fuel storage leak check and classification per the Aircraft Maintenance Manual.
- Perform interior and exterior lights functional check.
AVIONIC AND ELECTRIC SYSTEMS CHECKS
- Perform a visual inspection of all antennas for erosion, cracks, cracked/missing sealant, and corroded fasteners.
- Perform a visual inspection of static wicks and radome diverter strips.
- Perform a visual inspection of all electronic displays for chips, scratches, or cracks.
- Check engine starter brushes for condition and wear.
- Capacity check aircraft battery(s).
- Check ELT for condition, battery life and function.
- Perform a leak check of the pitot/static system (Optional)
INTERIOR EQUIPMENT REVIEW
- Check all crew and passenger seats for condition and function.
- Perform a detailed lavatory corrosion inspection.
- Check interior placards and markings for installation and condition.
- Perform visual and functional inspection of the interior and systems.
DETAILED ENGINE REVIEW
- Perform an engine leak check.
- Perform visual engine FOD Inspection.
- Perform a power assurance check.
- Borescope engine compressor section. (Optional)
- Visually inspect thrust reversers for damage, cracks, and corrosion.
